Joanie had a meeting in Washington DC on June 17th and 18th. We decided to tie this into a Vacation. Joanie searched the web for a B&B which was near Fishing, Hiking, Canoeing, Good Food, Scenic Areas in a pretty quiet town away from big cities. She found the Roebling Inn in Lackawaxan, Pennsylvania near the New York and New Jersey boarders. It sits at the confluence of the Lackawaxan and Deleware Rivers and was everything we hoped for!.
We flew into Baltimore on Sunday the 13th, rented a car, had dinner at the Harbor then drove the 3.5 hours to Lackawaxan. We stayed 4 nights and did some fishing, canoe'ed the Deleware, saw some nesting eagles through a telescope at the 2 Rivers Trading Post (Thanks Dimitri!), sightsaw (sightseed?) the surrounding area checking out the beautiful waterfalls in the area. We also managed to kick back and relax a bit too.
Thursday morning we drove back down to Baltimore - changed to a different rental car (on business now) and drove to DC for Joanie's meetings. We stayed at the Madison Hotel in down town. In the evenings we toured the monuments and memorials and of course went down to Georgetown for dinner. Saturday morning we were back on a plane and were home doing yardwork by 10:00am..... |
