Joanie and I vacationed in Colorado in August.  It had been 5 years since our last visit here and we really missed it.  We like to camp in Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP) in Moraine Basin but we were late getting reservations this year so we reserved a cabin on the Pouder River instead.  We brought a tent and camping gear along just in case - and were glad we did. 

We like seclusion too much and we just didn't get that at this cabin.  (not to mention the fact they messed up our reservation and had double booked our cabin!)  We stayed in the cabin one day then checked out the next morning and went down the Pouder River a bit and got a couple of campsites in Kelly Flats Campground in the Roosevelt National  Forest. 

While beautiful - and mostly secluded - we just didn't see the wildlife we've come to enjoy in Colorado - so we drove across to RMNP and found they had a good site for the rest of our visit.  We snapped it up and moved camp the next morning.
