Joanie and Roger vacationed in Colorado for a week in the last week of August this year. We stayed in campsite #108 in Rocky Mountain National Park - it has no water or electric but it's off the road and very secluded. We did our usual - hiking, sightseeing and photography. We did dine out a few times but mostly we cooked at the campsite.
August 21st: On the road to Colorado - Native Art, Wind Farms, Sunflower Fields and a Rainbow.
August 24th: A lazy day at the campsite. Taking pictures and reading books. Ground squirrels and humming birds kept us company all day. Bumble Bees on flowers always make for good photos. A coyote visited our campsite every morning and afternoon as it made it rounds in the park. We lined the dining tent with plastic that we could roll down as and when the afternoon rains (and once hail) came. Days were high 80's - nights in the low 40's or high 30's.
August 25th: We went for a hike in the Sprague Lake area today.
August 26th and 27th: Hanging at the campsite, dodging a bit of rain, checking out a heard of elk, and in the afternoon - hiking Lily Lake and Fern Lake trails.
August 28th: Hiking Cub Lake trail.
